1. Black Empowerment:

The Black Panther Party and the Young Lords

Please join us as AACCCR leaders deliver an educational livestream focusing on The Black Panther Party and The Young Lords! These street-level organizations were self-funded and focused exclusively on the empowerment of Black people through civic and humanitarian aid. The presentation will include historic anecdotes and a comparative examination of the groups' efforts.

2. The Black Dance Tradition

Please join us as AACCCR leaders deliver an educational livestream focusing on The Black Dance Tradition! Dance and entertainment have been longstanding support systems for members of the Black diaspora. This contrasts with the ritual purposes of many continental African dances. The presentation will include case studies and modern comparisons of Black dance at critical junctures in the Black experience.

3. Teaching Black History Through Theater

AAACCCR is excited to present an educational theatrical performance highlighting the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance and its' long-lasting effects on culture. Mr. Donald Hyman, historian and educator, will present a comprehensive discussion of the legends and legacies of key figures of the Harlem Renaissance. Figures will include: Augusta Savage, Arturo Schomburg, Marcus Garvey and Duke Ellington.
